Privacy Policy

Tremor Journal is a personal measurement journal for Android. It helps users record repeatable phone movement readings and optional notes so they can compare their own sessions over time.

Tremor Journal is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or assess any medical condition. The app is intended for personal tracking and discussion with a qualified clinician where appropriate.

Data Stored by the App

Tremor Journal stores the following data locally on the user's device:

• session date and time
• selected test arm
• relaxed trial summary values
• firm-grip trial summary values
• average intensity
• grip response
• dominant frequency summary values
• sample rate summary values
• recording quality
• whether the session is included in insights
• optional lifestyle notes entered by the user, such as sleep, food, caffeine, exercise, and other notes
• app settings, including reminder settings, countdown duration, verbose capture setting, haptic feedback setting, and default test arm

Sensor Use

During a recording, Tremor Journal uses the phone accelerometer to measure phone movement. The app uses this sensor data to calculate summary values for the current session.

Raw accelerometer samples are not kept in the app's saved history. Full sample data is only written to a CSV file when the user chooses to export a capture.

Data Sharing

Tremor Journal does not send user data to a server.

Tremor Journal does not sell user data.

Tremor Journal does not share user data with third parties automatically.

CSV files are created only when the user chooses to export or share data. Once a CSV file is shared outside the app, the handling of that file depends on the app or service the user chooses to share it with.

Notifications

If reminders are enabled, Tremor Journal schedules local Android notifications to remind the user to record sessions. Reminder settings are stored locally on the device.

Data Retention and Deletion

Saved history and settings remain on the device until the user deletes them, restores over them, clears app data, or uninstalls the app.

Individual sessions can be deleted from the app's history screen.

Restoring a history CSV replaces the existing saved history on the device.

Uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes the app's locally stored data from the device.

Accounts and Cloud Storage

Tremor Journal does not currently provide user accounts, cloud sync, or server-side storage.

Children's Privacy

Tremor Journal is not designed for children and is not directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The updated policy should be published at this same URL before releasing a version of the app that changes how data is handled.
